Sin Logica

Or, how I uprooted my life and moved to Spain to get my MBA in Spanish (and eat lots of jamon)

Waiting and hoping… August 16, 2007

Ah, Spain. Spain Spain Spain… My Visa was supposed to be ready to go on the 10th of August. Was it ready on the 10th? No. How ’bout the 13th? Nope. It’s the 16th of August, my flight is set to leave in approximately 3.5 hours, and still, there is no visa in sight, and no one at the consulate can give me any information about when this mythical document might appear. Well, not true–in all likelihood, it’ll be approved tomorrow or Monday, which is wildly inconvenient and terribly expensive, but not the end of the universe. So this is how I’m going to start my next adventure? Typical. Porque ya sabemos que no hay logica en Espana.

Update (Saturday, 8/18): Well, clearly, the visa has not happened yet, or there would be an entry entitled something like “Yippee! Hurray! They let me in the country!” As of Friday, they still couldn’t tell me anything about why they didn’t have it yet–just that they, you know, didn’t have it. I’ve got my fingers crossed for Monday, but I’m definitely not holding my breath. Note to Spain: Let me in! You have 6,000EUR of my money already! C’mon, venga, vamos! I’ll give your country lots more money if you let me in!!! Okay, enough begging.
